In LA this morning, we learned about a new strategy to help us understand what we read. It is called Visualizing. When I visualize, I’m making up my own pictures and movie in my head. It helps me to understand more about the book.
This morning, Mrs. Cameron read “The Salamander Room”. It was an exciting book to me and it got me interested when she first read it. Usually, she shows us the pictures, but this time, she didn’t. That got me to wonder. We had to draw a picture of the salamander room and what we visualized. It was surprising to me because she didn’t show the pictures. I had to see them in my head. There were a lot of juicy words and it got my attention in what it was describing. Here is a picture I drew of my salamander room and what I saw in my head. I liked my picture because I think it is pretty and it’s detailed.
